Our approach to responsible investment is based on four pillars
Environment, social and governance (ESG) integration, active ownership, member choice and investing in sustainable outcomes. VicSuper undertakes responsible investment for all asset classes with the exception of cash (due to the nature of cash investments).

Principles for Responsible Investment A+ rating
We have achieved an A+ rating for our Responsible Investment Strategy and Governance from Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). We also recorded significant improvements for implementation of responsible investment related to Listed Equities, Fixed Income - SSA and Active Ownership, resulting in A+ or A ratings across the board. PRI is an independent body and the world’s leading advocate for responsible investment supported by (but not part of) the United Nations.

Asset Owner Stewardship Code VicSuper is proud to be one of the first signatories to the Australian Asset Owner Stewardship Code, developed by the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors (ACSI). We’re committed to using the tools of engagement and voting to influence company behaviour for the benefit of companies, our members and wider society. Climate Action 100+
VicSuper collaborates with more than 320 investors, with a combined total of US$33 trillion in assets under management, to engage the world’s largest greenhouse gas-emitting companies to act on climate change. Through the Climate Action 100+ initiative, VicSuper engages with investee companies to reduce emissions in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement, and to strengthen governance practices and financial reporting on climate change.
